Why We Exist

Neighborhood KidZ Club has many amazing volunteers with a heart to see lives transformed. They faithfully serve each week praying that the seeds being planted will bear fruit. It is such a pleasure to see how biblical truths are taking hold year after year as children and youth grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ. Many times the volunteers and staff never know the full impact of this kingdom work.

Below you will find stories where God moved on the hearts of children that rippled through their entire families and beyond.

NKC Youth Gives Back

When Karena was in the 4th grade, she began attending After-School Tutoring and Bible Club at Neighborhood KidZ Club (NKC). She didn’t attend church as a young child.  By listening to the Bible stories each week, Karena was captivated by the truth from God’s Word and opened her heart to God’s plan for her life.  She has determined to set her life on a path to honor and serve Him.

She began telling her mother what she learned at Bible Club, and her mom became a Christian too, along with her brother, sister, cousin, and some neighbors. Now they all are active members of a local church. Karena is very active in Youth Leadership and Discipleship through NKC. Christ has made all the difference for Karena, and now she is giving back through being a tutor, helping with videos, and continuing to reach others.

Family Transformed

God was definitely at work in the Carranza family during a time when they were desperate for His help, as the parents were living apart and Claro (the dad) was battling leukemia. During this same time Kathleen and Clarissa were regular participants in Bible Club at Neighborhood KidZ Club. After one particular lesson, the two sisters asked for a Bible. They said that they wanted to read it and tell their mom what it said. Bibiana, their mom began attending a ladies Bible Study in Western Pines led by an NKC volunteer. Bibiana shared with friends and neighbors that she was learning “the true Word of God at the Bible Study.”

Today this entire family is restored, Claro’s leukemia is in remission, and they are all active in one of the churches that was founded through Neighborhood KidZ Club. God is truly in the business of restoration and transformation!

Joselyn’s God Smile

When Joselyn was in first grade, Mrs. Katie commented on her beautiful smile one day. Joselyn promptly replied that it was her “God smile.” Mrs. Katie asked, “How did you get a God smile?” She announced proudly, “When I come here, I feel like I’m coming to church. That room right there (pointing to the room where she went for Bible club while in preschool and kindergarten) is where I first learned that God loves me. When I come here I always put on my God smile!”
